“I’m so busy.”

It’s something about that phrase that just reels us in. We always have to be on top of it all. On top of our game, with the best of friends and the craziest of nights, and the most perfect of jobs; artsy Instagram posts and dozens of likes on our Facebook pictures, and too many plans and invitations that we just have to turn down because we have so much to do and so little time.

Matthew 16:26: What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

But what does it even mean, really, when we just hide behind this fragile wall of perfection? Because this wall will crumble, we will be left having to deal with who we are when there’s nothing left to peel back, no friends to call, and no more masks to put on.
